The iconic seaside boardwalk in New Jersey, still recovering from Hurricane Sandy, nearly burnt down yesterday as a raging fire tore through four blocks of shops, stores, and arcades. The fire consumed nearly 50 businesses and Gov Chris Christie said he felt like throwing up after all the time and resources that were put in all year to help the local residents recover from Sandy. The worst is the fact that a section of the boardwalk that was untouched by Sandy was burnt down as well. Funtown Amusement Pier was expecting a return in 2014, but those efforts are lost now. I sincerely hope the best for seaside residents and business owners. Do you have any fond memories of the pier?
